Jacki Apple Jacki Apple is an American artist, writer, composer, producer and educator based in New York. She has worked in various disciplines such as performance art and installation art. As well as art making, Apple is also a prolific writer, penning over 200 reviews and critical essays on topics such as performance art, media arts, installation art and dance. Her writing has appeared in publications such as ''Performing Arts Journal'', ''Public Art Review'' and ''The Drama Review''. She is currently a professor in the department of Humanities and Design Science at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. == Biography == Apple is a multimedia and performance artist who has been recording and performing since 1971. She has presented works nationally and internationally, with presentations in New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Ireland, and Canada. In 1976, she published her first books, ''Partitions'', this was followed up by ''Trunk Pieces'' released in 1978. She attended Syracuse University in 1959 and 1960. Apple graduated from Parsons School of Design in 1963. Born in New York, she currently resides in Los Angeles where she continues to perform and record. Apple has been a professor at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California since 1983. She teaches courses in modernist cultural history, ecology of fashion and performance art.
